You are not obligated to use all 5 picture card spaces. You can use as few as 1 or as many as 5.
Place your Do-N-Slide in an area most appropriate for your child to view and use. Prop it against a wall or shelf, hang it from a door knob, or attach magnets (not included) to the back and place it on your fridge.
Always use your discretion when selecting picture cards - as your child's care giver choose only the activities that you feel your child is capable of doing.
Promote your child's independence by allowing him/her to choose some of the activities to take place.
To reduce resistance to less favored tasks, order the picture cards so your child completes a less favored activity before a preferred activity.
Use the blanks to represent a person, place or activity not covered by the cards provided. Attach a photo or draw free hand.
If you feel the need to use a reward to motivate your child, the blank cards can be used to depict that reward. Examples are: preferred activities, foods, or special events.
